Printers are the wage

One steal is a bonus check

If every pad is locked, you are not failing. You are in a competent lobby. Stand on your money and wait. Eight players cannot all raid at once without opening something.

Skip the highlight-reel route. A short-session tycoon pays when the pad is still yours at the end of the hour. Steal and protect still matter after you can afford both; they just stop being the whole wallet.
